SHIBUI

I found Shibui from a site in Fluid Web Typography by Jason Cranford Teague. I thought it was kind of interesting that The whole site is black and white, down to the scroll bar. The typography and design are interesting. If you decide to visit, scroll down to the bottom of the why page, where it says "drag me..." It is clever.

Elliot Jay Stocks

I found out about Elliot Jay Stocks in an article in Digital Arts May 2013.  His site is simple and effective. He uses a nice font that is not too fancy nor too plain. The content of his site is sort of interesting too. He is a Web designer, but this is not a portfolio site. He writes about software and designing on his blog page, which I gather is also a separate site, but you wouldn't know it.

Sue Tallon

I found Sue Tallon in Communication Arts Design Annual 54. I thought her photos of food would be good inspiration for our next project. She has a very simple design to her site, yet shows off her photography well. She takes pictures of plenty besides food as well.

Cannon Design

Cannon Design is a company I read about in The Annual of the Type Directors Club Typography 30. Their site shows off architectural designs in categories. I don't quite get the navigation scheme, because the top navigation at times seems to contradict the side navigation. Other than that, the site is pretty easy to use. The pictures look good. The three pictures on the home page seem to go well together.

For Real

I found this site, we are foreal, in Computer Arts magazine July 2013. Blogger did not cooperate with me today, so I only got the front page on here, but the inside pages are interesting too. The clients page was one that I like because it has images to click to find the page for each client, but it is all in black and white. That way it is not overwhelmingly busy or anything. The picture on front when I picked it up is under the category "planet anatomy."
